Hello there Thesteve, welcome to the 'pedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you ever need editing help visit Wikipedia:How does one edit a page and experiment at Wikipedia:Sandbox. If you need pointers on how we title pages visit Wikipedia:Naming conventions. If you have any other questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump. BTW, thanks for starting the Jonathan Frakes article. Cheers! --maveric149 ho is this person? Information needs to be given why this person should be included in an encyclopedia. --mav

Never mind - this looks like user page info. This page needs to be deleted. --mav
Why? The Wikipedia defines encyclopedia as "a written compendium of human knowledge", and my autobiography qualifies as such. If I'm willing to put stuff about myself up there for all to see, what's the harm? The only difference between myself and someone who "qualifies" for an encyclopedia entry is fame, a fleeting and hard-to-define sort of thing. Why should you have to do something of note to be included in an *open source* encyclopedia? My desire to have an autobiographical article should be enough to justify such an article. Stephen
Perhaps we could sneak you into List of raving egomaniacs. --Brion 09:03 Sep 20, 2002 (UTC)
That would be nice :-) --Stephen
Steve, you user page is to tell about yourself, you're not supposed to do that in an article. Jeronimo
I must respectfully disagree. I think that everyone is deserving of article status. When do you reach the point of fame when you make that jump from "just a user" to "article status"? I think everyone deserves to be able to write an article about themselves. However, I will consult the village pump before trying again. Stephen
No this is an encyclopedia, not a home page repository. See Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not number 13. In an encyclopedia only people of encyclopedic interest deserve articles. --mav
Hey, thanks. I think Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not number 15 is closer to the mark :-). I went to the Village Pump first because that link isn't in the FAQ or help files. I was just being bold, but I'm okay now. Stephen

Hi, I checked the version before of the article off jazz, and it seems to me that the last version derek erased was not copyrighted, at least I coulnd't find a good match with google. Earlier version had copyright problems, but not the latests. No idea what was really the problem. Product placement sounds like Derek believed he was one of the members of the band, and was selfpromoting himself. Even if that's the case, I'm not sure it is grounds for deletion.--AN
