Preston Brooks caning Charles Sumner

1629 – Albrecht von Wallenstein and King Christian IV of Denmark signed the Treaty of Lübeck to end Danish intervention in the Thirty Years' War.
1816 – A riot broke out in Littleport, England, over high unemployment and rising grain costs, spreading to Ely the next day before being quelled by troops.
1856 – Senator Charles Sumner (pictured) was assaulted by Representative Preston Brooks in the United States Senate chamber in retaliation for a speech in which Sumner fiercely criticized slaveholders.
1939 – Germany and Italy signed the Pact of Steel, a military and political alliance.
2010 – Upon landing in Mangalore, Air India Express Flight 812 overshot the runway and fell down a hillside, killing 158 of the 166 people on board.

Harvey Milk Day[edit]

The page for May 22 includes Harvey Milk Day, but in parentheses next to it it says "United States". Harvey Milk Day is celebrated only in California.

My attention was brought to this page by a filing at DRN. I saw that an edit was made to the article that required review before passing the edit though. Since it was only a revert and was not vandalism I accepted the edit, but it needs discussion here before it gets into an edit war. WP:DAYS pages do not require on-page references, but must link to a subject article which has a source. Lucy Gordon appears to have a source which identifies her date of birth, though the Nazanin Boniadi page does not.—Laoris (talk) 17:25, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

translation of relics of St Nicholas[edit]

The listing says "Ukraine", but this is off. First, does the state of Ukraine celebrate this? Or the churches of Ukraine? And only those churches? I would say all churches of Byzantine tradition, but perhaps the Arabs don't. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 15:38, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't much in the article, Translation of the Relics of Saint Nicholas from Myra to Bari about Ukraine. There is a note that says it is a church wide celebration in the Ukraine. There are categories (not supported by anything in the article) that it is a tradition in Russia, Belaruse and Ukraine.
