Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Khendon's Law

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Khendon's Law was coined by one Jason Williams AKA Jason A Williams AKA Khendon [1] and added to Wikipedia by user Khendon [2]. It gets 820 hits on google [3]. These arise out of wikipedia mirrors, and because one, or possible two Usenet users adopted the "law" as a sig; and hence each post of theirs has the "law" on it. It is a neologism, and a fairly crappy one at that. It appears to be, as Williams admits, a bid for fame. It has all the characteristics of something we do not want on Wikipedia ... vanity; neologism with scant evidence of uptake. --Tagishsimon

If we remove the postings by "john" [4] on whch the law appears as a sig, we find it has been used 29 times since 2001. Would that class as notable? --Tagishsimon
  • Delete: Self-confessed "obscure" Internet saying. If it's obscure, it's not notable. Besides, we can merely run our eyes up and down this page to see the same point made by a single user over and over again, and it's not over. Geogre 01:01, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Merge and redirect to Godwin's Law. It's about as notable as the other adages on that page, and the author points out that it is based on Goodwin's. -- Netoholic @ 04:12, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. A small injoke which doesn't spread isn't notable just because they try to spread it on the internet. Average Earthman 15:53, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Neologism, vanity. Seems to be restricted to a couple of mailing lists for the Linux User Group of Davis, California. Gwalla | Talk 22:33, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete neologism vanity article. THe only reason it's been around since 2002 is that it appears no one's even been to the page until March 2004. -- Cyrius| 03:14, 16 Sep 2004 (UTC)
