Reading through this, I am often struck at what appears to be fan worship, there hardly ever being a bad word said about him. because the infobox template has a footnote about that which clearly states 'domestic league only' - I don't know why someone decided that is what it should be years ago, but that is what it is. Roy Keane

who put the bit in about him NOT being related to Roy Keane? I've never heard anyone say that he was related to Roy, in fact I would say it's common knowledge that there is no relation.

It's because someone keeps putting in the article that he IS related to Roy Keane - Mike1971inter March 18th 2005.

Transfer fee

transfer fee is wrong for re-joining and leaving Spurs. The bbc source which says 19m + add ons and the editor changed this to 18.3m + addons. He was made up a figure of 16.3m as the amount including add ons which Spurs may pay Liverpool when the source does not say how much. Competitive goal tally

It was true until late 2010 when Ireland lost 3-2 to Russia after Keane had scored one of Ireland goals. Also, Ireland drew 1-1 against Spain in the knockout stages of the 2002 World Cup. More vandalism

The small bit of the Celtic section which talks about the Old Firm derby is quite clearly vandalism - I'm not sure about the procedure for removing things like this, but since it's obviously NPOV (biased towards Rangers/ against Celtic/ Keane) it should really be removed. Apparently they're continuing to edit the Celtic section - maybe hoping that someone, somewhere will laugh if they keep repeating the same jokes. Doesn't wikipedia have an auto-ban system? (I was fairly certain there were some kinds of provisions for banning harmful IPs.)

What is this trying to say?

Towards the bottom of the international section someone has said "On June 4 2011, Robbie Keane scored twice against the Republic of Macedonia to become the top international scorer for Ireland with 51 goals in 108 appearances." Clearly this is not true as he became the top international scorer for Ireland some 6 years and 30 goals before last Saturday. No Irish footballer category?

Can someone please explain to me why Ireland is the only country in the world that does not have an Irish footballers category? Every other country from Northern Ireland to Norway to North Korea has a "Northern Irish", "Norwegian" and "North Korean" footballer category. I think there should be an "Irish footballer" category added for every Irish footballer and it intrigues me and bothers me as to why this isn't the case. The stats show that Keane did not score in Serie A, however, the paragraph at the bottom of the opening section states he did. Which county is Robbie Keane from?

We can agree that Robbie Keane was born in County Dublin in 1980 and moved to Wolverhampton (England) in 1995. User:Laurel Lodged has made SIX edits in a row to change the Category:Sportspeople from County Dublin to Category:Sportspeople from South Dublin (county), referring to the administrative county created in 1994. Which county do you think Robbie Keane should be described as from: the one in which he was born and raised, or the one that was created a few months before he left for England? The only arbitor of this question is the usual wiki one: it's whatever that relaible, verifiable sources say it is. This source says that he is from Tallaght which is the county town of South Dublin. Are there any sources that disprove this source? Laurel Lodged (talk) 21:14, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Whatever the "relaible" "arbitors" say, Keane was born in 1980 in Tallaght, which was then and still is a town in County Dublin. The 1994 legislation that created "South Dublin" as an administrative entity clearly stated that County Dublin remained in existence for all purposes other than local government administration. So, when Keane was 14 years old, his parents' bins began to be lifted by "South Dublin" council, but he was, and still is, "from" County Dublin. Brocach (talk) 01:32, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Given the recent decision at WP:CFD here and the immenent decision here, would you not agree that current county boundaries are acceptable? Have you not read Brownhairedgirl's comment? Here it is for you "County Dublin is no longer an administrative county, and Fingal is one of the 4 sub-divisions which replaced it for administrative purposes. These new counties have clearly defined and stable boundaries, and form an excellent basis for sub-dividing Category:County Dublin.". As the cited offendee in the ANI case, I'm a bit annoyed that I was not informed. My forbearance seems to have been interpreted as "no offence was received". I could have brought plenty of valuable evidence to the table that would have contradicted much of what was offered in defence. In the end however, it was probably not needed; the defendant did an excellent job of being the best witness for the prosecution himself by a fine display of boorishness. While the comments of the closing admin admin were, "And we're done. Plenty of growing up all round to be done.", I fear that they were said more in hope than expectation. Orphaned references in Robbie Keane

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Robbie Keane's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

FAI Contract

I have added back the piece about Robbie Keanes's FAI contract and the fact that he is paid €250k PA for doing absolutely nothing and will not walk away in the name of protecting grassroots football without a golden handshake. This piece is AGAIN backed up with articles from 3 respected broadsheets who confirm that this information is correct (The Irish Times, The Sunday Times (who exposed John Delaney) and the 42.ie) and many more publications report the exact same information.

Another user keeps deleting this piece. For their information wikipedia is not a personal blog site for the vanity of Robbie Keane, this piece of information is in the public interest and the facts I presented have been in the media for almost 12months and not once has Keane disputed this and is happy to take the cash each month. Barry, this is an encyclopedia article. Write factually, and neutrally, and if what you write is properly sourced, it will stay. You've got the sources, so concentrate on the other two now. For the record it is @sportscorrection who deleted my entries multiple multiple times before you, this caused me to write in a more "ranty" fashion, each time they deleted my contribution they included the comment "completely untrue" despite news articles from multiple sources which backed up my contribution being included. For the record @sportscorrection has acknowledged to wikipedia via email (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Sportcorrection) that they are Robbie Keanes publicist hence why they are trying to turn this into a vanity blog post and delete anything negative.

You have to write from a neutral position, as do I. Your continuing need to publish your assertions is not going to be denied, but your latest entry reads as out of chronological order with the rest of the Coaching Career section and a couple of citations appear to be broken. I would also argue that your wording "...with two years left on his FAI contract refused to vacate his Republic of Ireland assistant manager role until he received a large payoff from the FAI..." is speculative and misleading as the negotiations for the resolution, both practical and financial, of Robbie's contract are still ongoing. I am not going to edit your entry myself for fear of further backlash, and with respect to the potential conflict of interest I have, but I request that you review your entry objectively. Thanks. Hi Barry. Please sign your posts, using four tilde characters (~~~~). The Template:Cite news page will show you how to format your citations correctly. That will number them properly and automatically. I'd be grateful if you could fix those, but if you don't get a chance, I'll have a go later. Basically, a proper citation will include the article url, title, publisher, (ideally) the author, date of publication and date accessed, rather than just a basic web address. I also intend examining the citations for accuracy; the sentences on the contract seem to be worded as an attack on Keane, but if all the facts are correct and cited, then perhaps it can be worded more neutrally. I've reworded the sentence to be more neutral. Sorry, Barry but your wording makes it sound like some sort of attack on Keane for being paid while doing nothing. I also don't think that the level of his salary is relevant especially when the various newspaper reports vary so much in their estimates of how much he is paid. Please take Bastun's advice and learn how to add a reference correctly and I'd add please read WP:OVERCITE - we don't need 6 or 7 references saying the same thing, most of which are now almost a year old and multiple references really add to the impression that you are trying to make a big(ger) deal out of the situation.
