Poetry analysis[edit]

Hi Brad: Welcome to Wikipedia. I really liked the material that you wrote for Poetry analysis and I am impressed that you subsequently reverted it out. You are right to recognise that wholesale replacement of articles rarely goes down well. I have put your substantial contribution on a subpage so that we can all help to merge it into the main article. How about setting up your user page so that we can learn a little about you? And if you go to your Preferences page and put "BradGad]] [[User_talk:BradGad|(Talk)" (excluding the quotes) in your "Your nickname (for signatures)", other people will be able to get straight to your Talk Page from your signature. --Theo (Talk) 12:22, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

After due consideration, I merged the two versions of the article. The whole seems better than the sum of its parts although I regret that I have disrupted the elegant flow of your contribution. --Theo (Talk) 19:04, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Great job on the reorganization. I have moved the contents of Draft into the main article and we can now work there. Do not worry about the 32K limit; it is only a guideline and this is a big subject. --Theo (Talk) 09:06, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I don't understand how the parenthetical "582" is a citation. Please explain. --Theo (Talk) 23:04, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Long[edit]

Hey, BradGad, this is just to chime in with Theo, on whose page I happened to notice your posts about article length: ignore the 32 k guideline! It doesn't have the support of the community any more. Nobody invokes in on WP:FAC, for instance, the way they did a few months ago, that battle has been won. If anybody tells you different, please come to me for ammunition, I have some very telling FAC discussions I could point them to. Great work on the Poetry analysis! Best wishes, Bishonen | Talk 10:45, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC).

Welcome also[edit]

Good day, and welcome to Wikipedia. Feel free to contribute to anything you see. Several of us are building up the literary entries (see my user page for my own lowly contributions), and there is a great deal to be done. I myself attended Emory, U. Georgia, and UNC-Chapel Hill (go Heels! -- sorry, that's a contractual obligation). We also need more work on basic literary terminology and rhetoric. If you're ever idle and want a challenge, just go to one of the "List of" articles on literary prizes and notice all the redlinks. We still don't have articles on all winners of the Pul. Prize or the Nobel in Literature. This is not to mention the Pushcart or Newberry prizes. Those biographies need attention. Additionally, although I've done a few, there are basic terms that need a steadier, more scholarly approach than the eager amateurs have given. I did Elegiac, for example, when it didn't exist, and a entirely rewrote parody, only to have zealous folks tack on every funny thing they'd ever seen as an example. At any rate, welcome, and don't get discouraged. If you need any help from an admin., just drop me a note. Geogre 15:41, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Oops![edit]

You didn't accidentally delete Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Image:Autofellatio.jpg: it was moved to Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion#March_22 when you weren't looking (seriously). :) – ClockworkSoul 06:34, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

If you can't find your comment, here it is. Feel free to add that to the vote at Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion#March_22 if you want to. TIMBO (T A L K) 06:49, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Welcome![edit]

P.S. It seems that you're new to Wikipedia ... so you get the official Welcome!

Hello, BradGad, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  TIMBO (T A L K) 07:06, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

In fact you get the official welcome again and again[edit]

...? It's your page, but it's a little unusual to delete friendly posts on it without comment, for instance mine and Geogre's. Is something wrong? As for the "official welcoming", I'm sure people will stop doing that if you simply put a note on the page saying you don't want it. Regards, Bishonen | Talk 08:45, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Talk page[edit]

Sure Geogre has a talk page, everybody does, of the form User talk:Geogre. (But only very brilliant people, like me, know to put a talk page link in their sig. ;-) ) Bishonen | Talk 13:53, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
