For MediaWiki Monobook[edit]

the "printable version" link is missing- should render links as plain text (undecorated) if re-integrated. the print preview looks nice, but another use is to save an article as plain html with images. now you must save the entire wikipedia page with side navigation and header. Another big advantage of the printable page is that it eases importing in OpenOffice (and I guess in MS Office too) a lot. So please re-enable that link.

Copied from m:MediaWiki 1.3 comments and bug reports, (but only partial answer):
Print formatting is now handled by CSS, so if you use your browser's "print" command it will automatically remove the background, use nice printing fonts, use full URLs etc. 131.111.195.202 20:05, 31 May 2004 (UTC)

Can I link to a printable version of a page without being logged in?[edit]

(copied from Wikipedia:Help desk)

I think this was possible a short while ago by linking to e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=Financial_instruments&printable=yes Now it seems that this only works if I am logged in.

Thumbnailed images should print at higher resolution[edit]

Printable version should take advantage of the higher resolution version of images presented as thumbnails.
