Is this really the case, or is it just the author of this that needed disambiguation?
Often, in accounting for use of farm hectares, Defra does not distinguish between flax and hemp. And I believe historically (at least) hemp fibre has been used, instead of flax, in manufacture of linen. Laurel Bush 09:38, 9 May 2005 (UTC).[reply]
