Climb fatalities[edit]

There should be some acknowledgement that not everyone survives their climb attempts of the face. It doesn't need to be a name by name count, but it is more than a few who have fallen over the years. GeeBee60 (talk) 13:02, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No (helpful) response, so have posted small section myself. GeeBee60 (talk) 18:46, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Battling prepositions in Yosemite[edit]

Silly problem here, but I guess it's fair game for the talk page. There's a photo in the article near the "speed climbing" paragraph that shows an evening view of the cliff from the valley floor, featuring the camp-lights of the various climbing parties on the wall. The caption reads, "Climbers at night in the wall of El Capitan". I changed the preposition to "on", and it got reverted by someone claiming it sounded better the old way. I don't want an edit war, so I'm just posting for posterity that without doors, walls aren't for getting in... maybe for Jesus, but the rest of us can be beside a wall, or behind a wall, or atop a wall, or on a wall, but not in a wall. Thanks.

update I had a funny feeling about editing the el cap page; I thought it might provoke someone who harbors feelings of ownership here, and sure enough it did. But thanks, just the same, friendly editor, for pointing out that new discussions go at the bottom of the talk page, I like to learn. Do you? Maybe you can learn how to get in a wall. Then, you can start a new article all about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cellodont (talkcontribs) 21:46, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Astroman and Rostrum Free-Solo[edit]

Alex Honnold, Peter Croft and Dean Potter free-soloed Astroman. Peter Croft was the first person to solo both Astroman and the Rostrum in a day, in 1987. https://www.climbing.com/news/astroman-and-rostrum-free-solo/ 213.149.51.253 (talk) 16:17, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
