Hi Nptr, welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed you replaced the message about the firearm page at votes for deletion. Someone had already moved your question to the village pump instead as it was not clear why you needed anything deleting. It has now been moved again to Talk:Gun. In case you didn't see my answer there, I was not sure exactly what you were saying. Do you want the gun article moved to firearm? You can do that using the move this page link. If you want to write a different article at firearm, you can, just go to the page and write over the redirect. Use this link to edit the firearm page. Or was it neither of those things? You can let me know on my talk page or on the Talk:Gun page. Angela 01:08, Sep 28, 2003 (UTC)

Hi Mark, there aren't many powers that others possess that you do not. The only ones really are the ability to actually delete a page (or undelete it), to protect a page (which means no one can edit it further) and to block someone's IP from editing the site. There is a certain amount of HTML you can use, but also a lot of it that doesn't. It's best to stick to wiki-code (described on the how to edit page), so you would use ---- instead of <hr> etc.
Why do you want to stop people going to firearm from being redirected to gun? As there isn't an article about firearms, there doesn't seem a better solution. Unless you're going to write one that is; in which case - great, but there can't really just be nothing there. If you follow this link you can delete the redirect. However, if you just leave the page blank, chances are someone will come and put it back!
Hope that helps. Angela 04:37, 28 Sep 2003 (UTC)
