Captain Midnight was a popular radio serial from the late 1930's. More info here: [1]. I believe the radio serial ran until the early 50's. In the mid 50's, it became a television show. Eventually, a movie was made.

This entry for "Captain Midnight" is not the common use of the term, and should be completely replaced.

A disambiguation page would be better. I found the page this through the satellite hijacker.

The link to the Captain Midnight Decoder is in error; First, it's a general introduction to ciphers. Second, it cites a Captain Midnight Decoder Ring. Neither the radio nor the television show ever offered such a ring. a better link would be to www.theCrimsonCollector.com -- OVALTINE, which discusses all the cryptological premiums.

¶ I would be loath to contradict someone with authority here, but I definitely recall owning a Capt Midnight decoder - I think it was a ring - during the period of the TV series, and, on more than one occasion, actually decoding some trifling message about next week's show. I also add that the TV show had a Secret Squadron emblem -- different from that gilded badge connected to the earlier radio series, shown in the article -- the major distinction was that the TV emblem had the large letters S & Q (I suppose in the decade following WW2, "SS" had unappetizing associations).Sussmanbern (talk) 02:26, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
