(copied from the article): it would really help alot if someone would put the number of standing committees

Standing commitee numbers[edit]

there are 17 permanent standing commitees in the senate and 19 in the house of represenatives. each deals with a certain area such as banking or education. what?

Canadian Parliament standing committees[edit]

Could someone please verify that this list of House of Commons and Senate standing committees is correct. There is one that is refered to as House Standing Committe on Bill 38, which does not seem like a standing committee name as a bill's existance would only be temporary. The parliament page linked to doesn't list International Trade, but if you click on 39th Parliament, it lists it. I'm not sure why this is. I've been to that committee as an intern, so I know it exists, although I should verify if it *still* exists. --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 10:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure that committee is a standing committee? NorthernThunder 14:22, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uh uh, just click on 39th Parliament, 1st Session on the left, and then click on list of committees. It's there. --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 17:15, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
