First-Year Council[edit]

I believe the first-year council section should be deleted- it is one of about 16 services and one of many committees- it does nothing to warrant special mention on the page! Elifreedman (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:07, 3 August 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Former Execs[edit]

  • Would anyone object to me making a seperate subpage for the list of former executives, rather than cluttering it up here? - pm_shef 21:01, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't mind that suggesstion. Also, I was wondering if links to the various campus clubs be made, or if there are other Wikipedia articles about different clubs. I was trying to look up NDP-McGill for example and it didn't seem to have an article, could someone make one? Above unsigned comment by User:65.93.185.212

The general rule of thumb on wiki is that individual campus clubs don't merit their own articles unless they do something SUPER notable. One possibility is to add a section to the SSMU page about the activities of the Campus political clubs maybe? pm_shef 04:33, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think that a separate page for former executives is not a good idea, nor should it be posted on this page either. I just can't see what contribution to knowledge it would have. As for student clubs, I believe a certain number, perhaps political ones, should be mentioned but only insofar as they represent the diversity of student clubs at McGill. They should also should mostly be very broad topics that the majority of student share in their beliefs. So let's say 10 clubs such as; 1 national political (ex.liberals), 2 charities (ex. McGill Cancer Society, Free The Children), 2 cultural (ex. MCSS,) Canking 20:37, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ssmulogo.jpg[edit]

Image:Ssmulogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shatner Centre[edit]

Shouldn't we clarify that this name is unofficial? The only evidence of the name is a cheap pasteboard sign hung over the stairs by students. 76.186.118.246 (talk) 06:07, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was a referendum in the early 90s that made that the name...

representation[edit]

Removed this: ", when it was seen that SSMU executives and legislative council showed little interest in working with the organization."

It is hard to impute motives to the voting members of an assembly, particularly in an un-sourced claim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.198.172 (talk) 00:11, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
