SimonP and 172.162.56.61 are adding tons of new material that read like they come from text books. Is this all original material? -- Zoe

I haven't been adding much, mostly editing 172's text dump. I checked 172's stuff on Google and it seems to be original. My best guess is that it is an undergrad economic history essay, there are enough flaws in it that I would be very suprised if it were from a reputable source. The exact same material was added to New Imperialism and it all is very unencyclopedic and needs a lot of work. I ended up removing about half the text from what 172 added. -

Fuck you, SimonP :

First, editing a “text dump” and inserting condescending comments is far easier than ‘dumping the text’. Second, that was not an undergrad “essay”. I admit that I wove together many different rough drafts pertaining to New Imperialism in general. Yes, it was disorganized and poorly edited, containing too much unnecessary information on other imperialist powers. I figured that forcing others to edit the content would bring in additional perspective.

Go ahead, don’t just reorganize the article, but replace it with your own content. I expect it to be even more suggestive and at the same time flawless.

Nice language, 172.168.91.203. It's an attitude like that that will make people want to work with you. -- Zoe

I apologize greatly if I have caused any offence, you contributed much valuable information to the article. When I mentioned flaws I was refering mostly to poor editing, it was well written and contained factual information. I'm sorry for guessing it was an essay, I read a lot of them it seemed very similar. I did do a lot of work on your submission, I spent a good hour going over it and trying to make it fit the article, and am not delighted that you think I was no more than a lazy critic. I did a great deal more than just rearrange it, I added a great deal of new material and did a fair amount of extra research on the subject. The submission you made is very much appreciated and increased the value of the article, but in future it would be pleasant if you could keep your additions smaller as large ones tend to scare people away from editing them because of their shear bulk. It also leads people into thinking it has been copied from some other source. -SimonP
