Hyphen[edit]

First, there is a redirect from African-American to African American precisely so that both versions can be used. Second, it may be a dying rule, but ‘African-American’ used as an adjective needs a hyphen. Third, it is actually still common practice to use the hyphen even in the noun, let alone the adjective, and just because Wikipedia does not always do so doesn’t mean that we should change every occurrence that accords not just with standard practice outside of the encyclopedia, but also traditional grammar. So I am reverting your hyphen removal again. If you have an argument I haven’t addressed here, please add it below before you make the change again.

T.I.[edit]

There is no proof that T.I. is from Bankhead. So saying he is alegedly from Bankhead is a false statement. He is from Bankhead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.154.237.92 (talk) 00:27, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What your forgot to say?[edit]

The Bankhead HWY area is Atlanta's most infamous Ghetto also known as Police zone 3. It's not anything glamorous. This area has some of the highest crime rates in the entire city.

Does this have another name?[edit]

Does this neighborhood have another name that I don't know about? Searching for "Bankhead" on http://www.atlantaga.gov returns 0 hits. It seems like the Bankhead highway section in Atlanta was renamed because Bankhead had such a bad reputation - does Atlanta not acknowledge this neighborhood or something? Google Maps has a map with the precise borders, but I'd like to find something that I can cite that shows the borders of the neighborhood, and I'm not finding anything. I'm wondering if from the city's point of view this is now the Herbert S. Johnson Beautification District or some other politician-y thing that no one would actually call it. 0x0077BE [talk/contrib] 22:32, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
