Untitled[edit]

This is an impressive tower and the views from the top are stunning. It gets very windy there so wrap up warm. If approaching from North Nibley, you cane either follow the track or there are a set of steps to take you up the side of the cut. These offer quick access but are a stiff climb.

If you approach from Wotten-under-Edge the whole walk takes about 2½ hours maximum.

Recently (winter 2004/2005) there has been some renovation of the surrounding iron fencing and the addition of floodlighting that allows the monument to be seen in all its glory at night.

I've mentioned that the tower can be climbed: I assume it's still true although the relevant Tourist Board and Cotswold Way websites are silent on the subject. I've also mentioned that it's commonly called Nibley Monument rather than Tyndale Monument to locals; I didn't think it was strictly encyclopaedic to remark that local teenagers call it something rather cruder ...

Spelling[edit]

I will change the engraved text on the plaque from "greatful (incorrect spelling in the article)" to "grateful". If the plaque actually has the wrong spelling, then it should be changed back to "greatful". --Basawala 22:09, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
