Hi AndyBrandt, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Thankyou for finding the time to sign up and contribute to our little project. If you're in doubt about anything, you might want to check out some of these pages:

It's also a good idea to sign the new user log and add a little about yourself.

When contributing to a talk page, you can sign your name by typing four tildes after your comments, like this: ~~~~. Some people do not pay attention to unsigned comments. An important note: Please do not add this signature to encyclopedia articles you may edit, even if you have created them. Wikipedia articles are owned by the community, not by any one person.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me at my talk page, or at the Help desk or Village Pump.

But above all, make sure you be bold when contributing, and have fun!

Photo copyright[edit]

Hi Andy, could you clarify the copyright position of Image:Tomek.jpg of Tomek Lehnert please? Perhaps you obtained the permission from the website where you got it but you should make that clear.Billlion 10:22, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I didn’t ask for any permission, this is his picture reproduced on the back of his book as well as on all websites. I presume no one minds, if someone minds they will let us now and then we can remove the picture. Also, if someone has a picture of him he or she made it could be then replaced. More Karmapa[edit]

Andy User:67.104.112.99 has done some edits on Karmapa controversy that look a bit POV. Is there anything factual in these edits worth keeping? Billlion 20:29, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Jakusho Kwong image[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:204_0489_roshi_cut.jpg, a picture of Jakusho Kwong. However, you listed it as licensed under the CC-nc, for non-commercial use only. However, Wikipedia prefers to have all images available for commercial use under the CC, Free Art license, public domain, etc. My understanding is that the Jakusho Kwong image will be deleted if it remains under its current license. Since you hold the copyright, please consider releasing it under a broader license. On the other hand, you might have already released it under the GFDL when you uploaded it, I'm not sure. - Nat Krause 05:50, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ole-1-teaching.jpg. The image doesn't have a copyright tag so you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Tabor 04:03, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Tomek.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tomek.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 01:27, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Story points[edit]

The article Story points has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is 99% essay, tacked onto a "definition" meaningless without context; it is not an article

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orange Mike | Talk 00:40, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Story points, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Story points. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Orange Mike | Talk 19:01, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
