Does anyone out there have the words of Max Boyce's song about Barry John? Part of the song goes - 'They broke the mould of solid gold they used for Barry John.' Please help if you can :)

Try Googling for The Outside Half Factory and you'll find it all over the Internet. By the way the song isn't actually about Barry John although it does mention him of course. -- Derek Ross | Talk 06:22, 2004 Nov 14 (UTC)

Personal life[edit]

I've added a 'Personal life' section with a brief statement about his family, but it's possible that this information is outdated. I have read in several places that Max may actually be bi-sexual, and has left his wife. This may be nothing more than baseless rumour, but I've read this in several places (no authoritative websites like news agencies, but it makes you wonder). Can anyone clear this up, and possibly provide a source supporting or contradicting this? Thanks. Rob Lindsey 12:38, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Disc a Dawn"[edit]

I've found references to Max appearing on the first ever Welsh-language music programme, Disc a Dawn. Apparently, he mentioned this show to Stuart Cable on his TV show "Cable Connects" in November 2005 - not sure where it fits in his rise to fame, but more info on this would be nice. Cheers. Dead end[edit]

I have been expanding and improving this article for a month, but I have now reached a dead end. If other users have access to the Max Boyce episodes of This Is Your Life or Cable Connects listed at the bottom of the article, you might be able to add to what I have written. Early years in Aberdare[edit]

I question the accuracy of the statement that "Max Boyce has always lived in the town of Glynneath". He attended a Welsh language primary school near Aberdare for a while. I've seen the photos! --Darren Wyn Rees (talk) 13:01, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I remember seeing Max in a TV series, probably on BBC Wales called Poems & Pints.

Birthdate[edit]

I don't actually know Max Boyce's birthdate, but it is clearly wrong in this article. in both the opening paragraph and quick facts it is given as 1970, while the main article talks about his career in the mid 1970's, the degree he took in the 1970's and his first album as being published in 1971. I also remember as a child (born in 1967) watching him on television in the late 1970's and he certainly wasn't my age! Tihnessa (talk) 20:27, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
