Talk:Cultur

This page is to help links for words like cultural that don't contain the entire word culture -- similar to other malformed links like categories.

So why wouldn't someone link to "cultural"? If someone knows enough about Wikipedia to know that you can do cultural, then why wouldn't they just do cultural? (And categories is not a redirect to [[category; it's a link to a description of the board game.) -- Walt Pohl 20:50, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Ooh, thanks for the excellent example of why I like this sort of link! See, a lot of pages like Categories are indeed used to link to Category, because you can't do Categorys like for most words. Thus we get (potentially) redirects like Categories, Categorical, Categorified, and so on. So my idea is to just create a redirect from Categori -- the root that linguistically replaces Category -- then links the above as Categories, Categorical, Categorified, and so on. Thus, I create one redirect once, rather than having to create a whole bunch one at a time. (But of course, I have no objection whatsoever if somebody prefers to create a bunch of redirects instead!) With the example of Categories, we see yet another good result -- Categori can redirect to Category even if Categories is about something else. -- Toby Bartels 19:44, 4 Mar 2004 (UTC)
