Cross-breeding is the idea of two different (genetically) beings, that breed together to raise offspring, which combine the abilities of both parents.

Many modern dog-races are actually a mixture of previous races, but emerged as separate races.

Article already exists and is better explained at hybrid. All this information is contained therein. The reference to hybrid vigour is fully explained at heterosis.

Further, this should be at crossbreeding (no hyphen). Crossbreed already exists. Perhaps there should be an entry at Crossbreeding and this should redirect there? Just in case there really is enough info for a general article on crossbreeding? Quill 22:17, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)
