Hi there! I'm the founding editor of the Digital Divide Network, an online community for activists from around the world working to bridge the digital divide. I'm author of the website EdWeb: Exploring Technology & School Reform (1994), one of the first websites to advocate the use of the Web in education. I'm also the founder of WWWEDU, the Internet's oldest email forum regarding the Web in education, and DIGITALDIVIDE. I served as creator and moderator of SEPT11INFO, one of the first online communities created in the hours following terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.

I'm a long-time blogger at Andy Carvin's Waste of Bandwidth, which I use for experimenting with podcasting and video blogging for several years; I've conducted video blogging worksshops in the US and West Africa. Recently, I became a correspondent for the vlog Rocketboom and the PBS blog learning.now.
