Olivier[edit]

Hi Mufka, You recently reverted (removed) my edit to the July 25 page (Laurence Olivier's marriage). Why? The event appears to be true (it's on Olivier's page), and it's of interest (to me, anyway). Thanks - Karl gregory jones (talk) 18:48, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The marriage of one person does not rise to the level of global notability required for inclusion in a date article. It might be an interesting bit of trivia, but it has no global impact. See WP:DOY for details on what is considered suitable for the date articles. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 19:15, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Train wreck[edit]

But a train wreck that kills 80 definitely should be included. It was both unusual and killed may people Apteva (talk) 03:54, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The reason for removal was that it wasn't supported by a link to an article that covers the story. Separately, it doesn't meet WP:DOY for the same reason that most plane crashes don't. Newsworthy and noteworthy in this context are quite different. If this proves to have some widespread impact on train travel and changes laws in several countries, maybe it should be included. But at this time, it appears to have very limited impact. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 04:03, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake. The original reason for removal was not correct as there was a mention in high-speed rail but the second part above is valid. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 04:12, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the article Santiago de Compostela derailment. High speed rail accidents are extremely rare, but when they do occur, they are quite spectacular. I see the article gives the date as July 24, though. Not sure which is correct. Apteva (talk) 05:00, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdays[edit]

If we go by the Hijri birth dates listed for both men, then Ali al-Ridha was likely born in late December 765 and Ibn Arabi on July 28 1165 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.79.233.45 (talk) 01:24, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Which Galicia?[edit]

National Day of Galicia could perhaps include (Spain) in brackets to indicate which Galicia. 142.163.194.63 (talk) 15:44, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, something wrong with login so I'll just say that the American Revolutionary War entry for this year refers to a siege in India. It's got.to be a mistake. Chicagojcb 104.3.56.238 (talk) 03:01, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
