First header[edit]

So I was looking through the revision history, and I noticed that Melissa's category as an actor had been removed for being "redundant". I don't understand at all how that's redundant, seeing as there's much more to her career than just voice acting. She's a voice actress, she's a stage actress, she's been in commercials, been in a couple of movies, had some parts in tv shows. While yes, she IS known as a voice actress to many people, but what about all the people who know of her as a stage actress? I am personally a huge fan of her stage work, and that is how I came to know who she was. I feel that with her not having that listed in categories, I'm mildly offended - because she is talented at everything that she does. Limiting her in categories as JUST a voice actress is making your encyclopedia incorrect. It's not redundant to say she's both an actress and a voice actress, it's just showing all the aspects of her career. And that will be all.

btw, she's really cute

Headshot[edit]

How does one change an actor's headshot? Her fansite has many more attractive headshots... do we need to get the site's permission first? can we use it? Just a Fan 06:12, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Take a gander at Wikipedia's picture tutorial, it should tell you what you need to know, including the how-to aspect as well as what is and isn't allowed. - Ugliness Man 12:16, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Video Game Roles[edit]

Melissa Fahn has repeatedly said she is *not* the voice of Anise Tatlin in Tales of the Abyss, yet no matter how many times I state that (i forget to log in, sorry) it keeps getting re-added. It's NOT her. It's an uncredited role that's been confirmed as being another actress named Jolie Jackson (also of Paradise Kiss) NOT Melissa Fahn. Can people PLEASE stop adding this back? It's getting really annoying. This page is about getting the fact right? Just a Fan 23:15, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's a strong possibility that the person or people who keep adding it don't check the article's history and/or don't look at this talk page. That's one of the drawbacks of being an encyclopedia that anyone can edit, there's no way to force editors to make sure they're not doing something stupid like that. I'll add an "invisible" notice (only visible when editing) in the page code of that section which might help. - Ugliness Man 06:55, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Just a Fan 13:38, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's STILL someone posting Melissa Fahn as the voice actress of Anise Talin. Can we PLEASE have someone create an article for Jolie Jackson so we can have this cleared up?MegaZilla

Sorry, but if you listen to both roles you can clearly tell that it's Melissa's voice. It's much more likely that Jolie Jackson is an alias that Melissa doesn't want to confirm rather than it being another actress who just happens to sound eerily similar (it's the same with aliases used by Brianne Siddall and Steve Blum; both actors officially deny using certain other names found in non-union productions). We can't confirm any of this for sure, but it would explain why so many people keep adding the roles onto this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.28.8.68 (talk) 01:59, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

YOB[edit]

I'm doing an Interview with Ms. Fahn for a journalism class that I'm taking and one of our standard questions is age, and she said her age is 33 and that she's amused by the different ages popping up for her on the 'net, especially since there are many M. Fahns and even a couple of Melissas in the Fahn Family. From her lips to my ears, an accurate age! Sorry for any mixups in the past. Just a Fan 04:26, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I find it interesting that IMDB credits her as having done voice acting work in 1972, one year before she was born. Opusfalse 09:14, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's easy when it comes to anime. The year listed is the year the show was ORIGINALLY done. The dubs were done in the early-mid 90's for most of those shows. Another instance--Laura Bailey who's 25 wasn't doing voice acting when she was eleven, despite the fact that Dragon Ball Z was out in Japan in 1992. The dub that she was on was recorded in the late 90s when she HAD broken into voice acting. IMDB can't be taken literally with anime and video games that have been imported to the US and dubbed months to years to decades after the initial releases. She did Gaz as well as other minor characters in Invader Zim and she is credited for voicing newborn Zim.

privateeye.com reports that the age of the Melissa Fahn married to Joel Alpers is 39. This would not be some other Melissa in her family. Incidentally, the reported age of every Melissa Fahn living in California is 39. Throughout my informal testing of this service, IF an age is reported, it is accurate. Taking into consideration that Melissa's older brothers are 44 and 41 respectively (according to both privateeye.com and their own articles here on wikipedia), I consider it far more likely that a woman in her late thirties and worried about her hireability for younger parts in stage productions would lie about her age in an interview. Maybe out of respect for her privacy and respect for her you should just trust her? It's none of your business to go digging unnecessarily into her private life just to prove if she's lying or not? The listing for me on those says i'm 57--I'm 22. Shows accuracy there. 69.40.195.98 23:12, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Melissa fahn publicity photo.jpg[edit]

Image:Melissa fahn publicity photo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:26, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not the one who put the picture up, but I know that for a while it was her publicity photo used for Playbill and other programs for theatrical work. I know that currently she uses http://www.melissafahn.com/photos/headshots/headshot_08.html that picture in her Wicked Playbill bio and for more recent regional theatre programs... I don't exactly get how to put those pictures up or what that is. I tried doing it but wasn't sure if it was fair use or not if it's used promotionally.Just a Fan 02:23, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tina Dixon redirect?[edit]

Can anyone explain why Tina Dixon redirects here? I was looking for information on the ESPN television presenter. 66.108.217.8 (talk) 18:29, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Johanna Luis[edit]

Looking all over the revision history, I haven't been able to find this name which leaves me to bring up the question: Are Melissa Fahn and Johanna Luis separate persons? --74.88.50.155 (talk) 04:44, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
