Why is she considered LGBT?

No, it's not. We say she was bisexual, and we mention at least 2 women with whom she had affairs (Suzanne Baulé, known as Frede; and Mercedes de Acosta), and another (Edith Piaf) whose friendship with Dietrich was rumoured to be more than platonic. -- Jack of Oz ^{[pleasantries]} 10:10, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Except neither of those names come with any references. There is a strange modern retconning of famous/Golden Era female actors with little to no proof of their sexuality being same-sex. The one innuendo (the Sewing Circle) is attributed to a gossip writer and alleged to include very straight women - which makes it's vernacular silly to use as a source for it being a code word. Where are you getting the information about her support for refugees?

The following statement isn't backed up by the reference provided at the end of this paragraph: Dietrich created a fund with Billy Wilder and several other exiles to help Jews and dissidents escape from Germany. In 1937, her entire salary for Knight Without Armor ($450,000) was put into escrow to help the refugees.

Which fund are you referring to here? The European Film Fund was started by Ernst Lubitsch in 1938, but Dietrich and Wilder were not involved in this. There is no information anywhere except for this Wikipedia entry that mentions her putting her entire salary for Knight Without Armor into escrow for refugees, and the Wikipedia page for Knight Without Armor list her salary for this film as $250,000 rather than $450,000. 77.191.5.179 (talk) 20:59, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
