"Administrators are not imbued with any special authority, and are equal to everybody else in terms of editorial responsibility. Some Wikipedians consider the terms "Sysop" and "Administrator" to be misnomers, as they just indicate Wikipedia users who have had performance- and security-based restrictions on several features lifted because they seemed like trustworthy folks and asked nicely. However it should be noted that administrators do not have any special power over other users other than applying decisions made by all users."

When a question is made as to whether or not to delete a page, the benefit of the doubt should be given to not deleting the page. This is best expressed by the guideline "when in doubt, don't delete" on Wikipedia:Deletion guidelines for administrators. This is reiterated in Wikipedia:Deletion policy:

If an article is repeatedly re-created by unassociated editors after being deleted, this should be seen as evidence for the need for an article. Administrators should always be responsible with the power that they have. If in doubt... don't delete!

"If a page does not fall into one of the categories listed under Wikipedia:Candidates for speedy deletion, then you cannot delete it without it spending five days on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion (or the analogous pages for images and media files, categories, templates, redirects) first." Wikipedia:Deletion policy

Wikipedia:User_page You can also use your user page to help you use Wikipedia more effectively: so you can use it to list "to do" information, work in progress, reminders, useful links, and so forth. It's also good for experimenting with markup (a personal Wikipedia:Sandbox).

Another use is to let people know about your activities and opinions on Wikipedia. So you might include current plans, a journal of recent activities on Wikipedia, and your opinions on how certain Wikipedia articles or policies should be changed. If you won't be editing Wikipedia for a while, drop a note on your user page to that effect.

If you need more pages, you can create subpages. More or less, you can have anything here that you might have on your user or user talk page. Examples:

  • a work in progress, until it is ready to be released

In excessive cases, your user subpage may be deleted, following a listing on wikipedia:votes for deletion, subject to deletion policy.
