Hello,

Since you contributed in the past to the publications’ lists, I thought that you might be interested in this new project. I’ll be glad if you will continue contributing. Thanks,APH 10:52, 11 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The article Peter Szatmari (geologist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article is basically unreferenced (only "reference" is to an article published by the subject". Web of Science lists only 25 articles, cited 327 times in total with an h-index of 10. GS gives an h-index of 6 (searching for "Peter Szatmari and geology" - there is another researcher in a different field of the same name. The external link goes to an interview in his employer's magazine and is therefore not independent. No other independent sources available. Does not meet WP:PROF.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Crusio (talk) 11:37, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:800px-Fábrica ferro Sorocaba 1884.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. File permission problem with File:ScreenShot154.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ScreenShot154.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 06:53, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Use of Undo[edit]

When you "undo" or revert an edit with the undo button you are expected or required to explain why unless the edit you are undoing is simple vandalism. Your recent revert here was not undoing vandalism. Please explain your edits with succinct edit summaries or with talk page discussion. Vsmith (talk) 02:00, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

With respect to this edit, I'm not sure what you're trying to do. The first citation, from Science (journal) doesn't say what you think it says. It makes no mention of an abiogenic origin for oil. Your second citation is a blog, from someone who seems to have been sucked into Gold's theories. I've noticed this a lot across sciences. Individuals who don't have any specific knowledge of another field of science, think they do. It's arrogance, usually, but it also because they aren't that much smarter about the field than most people. Just because Gold is a physicist doesn't mean he knows more about the formation of oil than you or I do. So, you need to review WP:RS, so that you understand what qualifies as a reliable source. Also, we do note give undue weight to fringe theories. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 02:44, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
