Your edits to Aegukga[edit]

Hi! I reverted your edits to the romanization and Korean spacing in the Aegukga article, because the romanization is according to South Korea's official Revised Romanization. In particular, the hyphens you added shouldn't be there; adding a hyphen in "bou" is unnecessary, and writing "baekdusani" as "baekdusan-i" would suggest that the "i" is pronounced separately from "baekdusan", which it isn't, and so on. The spacing in the Korean words are also subject to rules; e.g. "이 기상과..." definitely should NOT be written as "이기상과...", i.e. without the space, the "ilpyeondansimilse" is one word, etc. So I've gone back to the version of lyrics before you edited them, but kept the other content you added. -- KittySaturn 15:40, 2005 Apr 8 (UTC)

"Giota"[edit]

I've heard Greeks pronounce the name of the letter I as yota. What do you intend "giota" to sound like? Michael Hardy 22:25, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

There is a good point on that. Actually, "giota" is the way the letter the letter i (as in iota) is spelled in Greek. The "g" does sound like y, but when transliterated, the "g" is actually dropped when transliterated from the Greek alphabet into the Latin alphabet. In a sentence, iota sounds like a short i.

Thanks. Michael Hardy 01:55, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

PD-PhilippinesGov[edit]

Hey, thanks for making Template:PD-PhilippinesGov. :) I've noticed that US government works are all public domain, and for quite a while I was unsure if the same thing applied to the Philippine government. I have a question about the wording though... It says "The following work is in the public domain in the Philippines and possibly other jurisdictions", and later says "This applies worldwide". If it applies worldwide, couldn't we just remove "in the Philippines and possibly other jurisdictions"? TheCoffee 17:35, 19 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

May we edit the profiles of most towns of the Philippines so that we have at least a brief description of the town. I think this christmas break is the right time to do this.

Thanks and Regards, Justox Dizaola (Ace Christian F. Serraon)

Philippines national football team[edit]

Hi Akira123323,

There have been some edits on the Philippines national football team page recently. Some of the edits are factual, and I was just wondering if you could have a look at them and verify what the correct version is. Thanks. -Aabha (talk) 13:47, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

AfD[edit]

Pls visit AfD Cyberservices, and see an article created by the same "user" - AfD Philippine Cyberservices Corridor. Pls encourage more well known users to make a vote. I have a suspicion that there will be a flood of posts from anons, and new users in those two AfDs. Thanks. Wikipedia is not for promotion. --Noypi380 11:54, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BDO merger[edit]

BDO finished the merger? Its taking quite some time. ;) --Noypi380 00:48, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No word yet. While Cora de la Paz may be the new chairman, there's no word yet on the GSIS share deal or the SSS deal. --Akira123323 09:01, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll read up and help you out in the article when I can. Nice work too in the Urban Bank article. Sweet! That is probably the largest banking tragedy in the RP. ;) --Noypi380 13:18, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed up the image (mainly, removed the numbers in the bottom right corner). Hope this is a welcome change. Cheers, Mopper Speak! 02:45, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine. Actually, it looks better without the numbers. --Akira123323 03:27, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, wanted to get a sense of consistency, as it looks uneven with the numbers. Anyway, cheers. Mopper Speak! 03:38, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Filipino?[edit]

Are you Filipino? Anonymous_anonymous_Have a Nice Day 15:21, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yup. I am. --Akira123323 15:31, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm quarter Filipino. What city do you live in? Anonymous_anonymous_Have a Nice Day 15:49, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm actually in Makati right now, although I tend to go back to Pittsburgh during the summer (of course, not now). --Akira123323 15:51, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LRT side platforms[edit]

From Manila Light Rail Transit System: "Yellow Line stations have side platforms, while Purple Line stations have island platforms." Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure I remember the Katipunan Station having side platforms. And the Araneta-Cubao station too. I can't speak for the other stations, since I mostly just used the LRT to get from Katipunan to Cubao. :) Coffee 17:34, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm basing on some observations from the pictures. I have seen Recto station with side and island platforms (although I think they were also side platforms only), but I'll take note of side platforms on MRT-2. Actually, I even think, judging from the way MRT-2 stations are placed, that all other stations have side platforms. I'll go change that. --Akira123323 17:39, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just remembered that whenever we would drive under the Purple Line tracks, the tracks don't widen, as would be the case for island platforms. That would mean that all Purple Line stations have side platforms, which has been noted already in the article. --Akira123323 18:06, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I award this rare Philippine Barnstar to Akira123323 for getting Manila Light Rail Transit System to Featured Article status.

Great job on getting us our first Filipino-made Philippine-related featured article! Hopefully the first of many to come. :) Coffee 16:13, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I didn't even know that a Philippine barnstar exist! But of course, I'm not deserving of all the credit. --Akira123323 Say what? | Track record 16:15, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mabuhay ka, kapatid, for writing the very first Filipino-related article to be on Wikipedia's Featured Article. You make our country proud! More power to you! =) --Tito Pao 08:49, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! If I remember correctly, it started with an article on Blumentritt LRT Station (well, a rewrite). Oh well. But anyway, thanks again! --Akira123323 Say what? | Track record 12:49, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Following a discussion on WikiCommons I researched Philippine copyright law and I took the liberty of summarizing my findings on the template talk page. Since you created this template in the first place, I'd welcome any comments from you. Thuresson 23:58, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some LRT/MRT pictures[edit]

Here are some pictures that may be of some use to the articles. Most of them are low quality, i'll try to take better images with a better camera when the weather gets better. Maybe i'll just place the new images here and you'll be the one to decide where it should be placed in the articles. --Mithril Cloud 16:19, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, i found a couple of good pictures of the LRT1/LRT2/MRT at the skyscrapercity.com forums. Those kind of pictures are considered as public domain images, right? While some of the images posted by the members of the said forum are taken from some websites, the rest of the images were taken by the members themselves. I also found Image:Edsa4.jpg on the said forum. It would be nice if we can get some of the great looking images there on the articles.

I am not sure if they are PD per se, but it would be very nice if we can have those pictures up too (surprised though they got past the photo ban). Most station articles don't even have pictures (I'll work on Magallanes and Guadalupe stations, btw) and of course the MRT does it a bit sparingly. More pictures would do great though.
I'll see about the three pictures. --Akira123323 Say what? | Track record 22:39, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
