Untitled[edit]

Was it dissolved, or did it yet again change its name (National Election Pool)?[1] NEP looks suspiciously like VNS. 142.177.127.205 22:52, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Section: "Role in the 2000 presidential election"[edit]

"A possibly unwritten secondary mission of the Voter News Service was to provide election results as quickly as possible on election night—a point which came to haunt the VNS in the 2000 presidential election."

"Possibly"? "Unwritten"? This is all just conjecture then, if its only "possible" and if it is "unwritten" its also unprovable and cant be sourced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.224.197.195 (talk) 22:46, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs a better history[edit]

The article says VNS was formed in 1990 and cites Forbes Magazine. However, the article's External Links section has A House Without Doors which says "Though VNS had changed its name regularly, its headquarters are still at 225 W. 34th St., New York City, and it has been the exit polling arm of the big TV networks since at least 1972."

I suspect both statements are correct in that VNS operated under another name prior to 1990.

It may be worthwhile to merge this article with National Election Pool which seems to be the same concept under a new name. --Marc Kupper|talk 04:51, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
