De Luna was elected at Avignon. Since Wikipedia is not an official organ of the RC Church, and since the RC designation "anti-pope" is duly noted in the opening sentences to satisfy partisans, how can we prevent hobbyists from shifting the neutral and historical term Avignon Pope Benedict XIII, to "Antipope Benedict XIII"?--Wetman (talk) 20:28, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Avignon Pope is not accurate, the Avignon Popes reigned in the town from 1305 to 1378 when the Curia was moved back to Rome. Urban V was elected as Pope, some Cardinal's didn't like it and then made their own Pope to go against the lawfully elected one. This is the very definition of an Antipope. It is accurate to call Benedict XIII Antipope- because that is what he is. Avignon Pope is also misleading as people may assume that means he is a legitimate Pope, which he never was.
