Recent history[edit]

Why not "Recent History" or "Modern Period" or "Post Cold-War"? It's just that I couldn't find the title "Accomplishments" elsewhere in the histories of other countries? The word has conations of great things being achieved, or the title of a resume and not a history. --Lukeisham 01:39, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)

It was no
hassle .Instead thanks for the help. I'd been bothered by those headings for months as well. Too many users on Wiki think that NPOV means a section on "good things" plus a section on "bad things," rather than just scrapping such judgment calls in favor of a balanced, holistic view and providing multiple contexts. If you find more examples of this crude "supporters versus critics say" conception of NPOV (and you probably will, esp. since you're already attuned to spotting it), please feel free to point them out or fix them on your own. 172 09:58, 27 Apr 2004

Hong Kong Media[edit]

Neutrality(?) on "China Today"[edit]

Slightly odd phrasing[edit]

In the Power Transition section: "Wen Jiabao, a geology engineer who spent most of career in China's hinterlands, had never lost his political ground despite being a former ally to disgraced leader Zhao Ziyang." "Political ground"? surely that should be something more like "never lost his political influence"? I think that's what is meant, but I'm not sure so I won't edit it myself. Feel free to add other examples of slightly strange phraseology to be edited, if you notice any. EDIT: found another one. In the Policy Transition section: "The degree of difference between the Hu and Jiang administrations has been of debate."
