Notes[edit]

This page is a total mess, many of the links are redirects to other pages linked from here. Many of the pages already exist on other pages of lists.

Couldn't all the mythology related articles be replaced with one link to the list of egyptian mythology related topics, for example?

And can't we just replace this horrific mess with a category?

Hello? Is anybody there?

It is a bit of a mess... But replacing it with a category wouldn't serve its main purpose, which is to act as an Egypt-specific list of Recent Changes when you click on "Related Changes". We do, however, need to be more assiduous in keeping it up to date for it to function that way: redirects probably shouldn't be listed here, but if someone moves a page that is listed here to a new location that isn't, then tracking for that article is lost.
I don't think it's that unwieldy yet (although it would be if all the Egypt pages were listed). Perhaps a split between "Egypt" and "Ancient Egypt" would be appropriate at some point in the future? (There'd be some overlap, of course, but having some articles listed on both wouldn't be a problem.)
Another thing: some similar lists of "-related things" have links to the articles' talk pages as well, which enhances the usefulness of the "Related Changes" function. Adding talk page links would be a lot of work, unless someone can think of a text-editor macro to speed the process. Hajor 15:06, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Does related changes not work for categories then? ~~~~ 18:38, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Well spotted. It does, actually, but I suspect a lot of us started doing it this way at some point in the distant past, before categories existed. Hajor 19:33, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I've added what I know. And will replace any of the Re-directs with the originals, for clarity. I have just been working on what I made: "Category:Egyptian artefact types". However not all are yet incorporated, nor some pages I have also created. cylinder seals, though found in graves, aren't Egyptian artefacts, unless one considers them as a find. And there are some imitation Egyptian cylinder seals(of Faience)... (See Cylinder seal page); I just made: Scaraboid seal; it is an Eqyptian artefact.. (I think this page is a good idea.....!..) (I see Heka is on the page. It is a hieroglyph, but it also part of a page to create " Crook and Flail "...I just looked, Heka should be Heka (god)..the Heka is also the H-glyph)....Michael McAnnis,YumaAZ....Mmcannis 04:04, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just by alphabetical order???[edit]

A completely useless list. Some other lists are organized by topic e.g. List of topics related to the United Kingdom or List of France-related topics or List of Iran-related topics. Those might be helpful. If you have time, please consider reorganizing by topic (even a small amount of articles to be expanded later).--Wedian 02:36, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have been trying to clean this up, if anyone can add to the list, your help is always appreciated! --Funandtrvl (talk) 19:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
