The two-letter English word referring to an aquatic creature in Japanese mythology described as a mix between a human and a jellyfish

Is this true? I don't know what it is and failed to find it. Since it starts with "r," this word would be of Chinese origin but there seems no corresponding Chinese character. --Nanshu 08:01, 23 Nov 2004 (UTC)
