Talk Archives[edit]

Gonna break in the new talk page with a request.[edit]

Could you look at this article and see if it is a qualifier for deletion? I can't decide. Kingsmasher678 (talk) 00:53, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I tentatively don't think it's a notable person, but my track record for deciding that isn't the greatest. Is there a place where the info could be merged, and the current article turned into a redirect? Joyous! Noise! 02:18, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, but the article is also unsourced. If it had valid sources, I would merge it with something, but as it is? IDK.
Kingsmasher678 (talk) 02:37, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hm. True. You can certainly toss it in the AFD pile and see what happens. No harm if it results in a "keep." If you want to find a better opinion (not difficult, since the military isn't really my area), you could look through the histories of related pages to see who has a clue about Russian history or the military of that era more generally. Joyous! Noise! 02:40, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll send it to AFD and if notable someone will come out of the woodwork and save it. Thanks for the help!
Kingsmasher678 (talk) 02:44, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure how helpful I was, but you're welcome. I hope the new talk page fit ok, and wasn't too snug. Joyous! Noise! 02:46, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to be a bother again, but could you take a look at the AfD board right now? It needs some attention. Kingsmasher678 (talk) 02:54, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

List of Intel Core processors merge complete![edit]

Hi Joyous,

In reference to Talk:Intel Core § Merger proposal, I am pleased to report that the merging of the Core 2, i3, i5, i7, i9, M lists into the "List of Intel Core processors" page is complete!

The tables have all been reworked to improve efficiency and reduce clutter, which solved the article size problem. This has been by far the absolute biggest project that I've ever completed on here!

So anyways, the following pages now need to be turned into redirects to List of Intel Core processors:

You said to me on that talk page discussion that you have some automated script or something that does the turning of the former pages into redirects, the placing of the talk page notices and whatnot. Could you please run that here? Cheers — AP 499D25 (talk) 11:29, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tell you what, what I'll do instead, is do the redirecting of the original pages into the merged page myself, and let you know once I've done that.
Although the merging is complete, I've still got a bit of work to do in regards to adding anchors to the section headings to make section links from other articles and from URLs still work, so basically it is not 100% but 99.5% complete. I'm going to do that one last task before converting the original pages into redirects, as I feel like if I do that afterwards, I'll create a bit of a 'high-traffic' situation on the target page, and I may run into those incredibly annoying edit conflicts. — AP 499D25 (talk) 15:15, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I couldn't respond earlier today--I was about to head out the door for a volunteer gig. (Orphaned baby raccoons. They're adorable and evil in equal measure.) Just let me know when you're ready. And thanks for all of the hard work. Joyous! Noise! 20:06, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's okay, I wrote that message very late at night yesterday. Sounds like a bit of fun! Will do. — AP 499D25 (talk) 23:42, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alrighty, it is now all complete! — AP 499D25 (talk) 02:37, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And the Easy-Merge bits are done. Joyous! Noise! 02:42, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot!
I think I spent a grand total of a couple weeks worth of time rewriting all the Core i tables in the new layout.
Although soon I may start a split request to put the i3/i5/i7/i9 processors into a new "List of Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9 processors" combined article, as Intel changed up their naming system with the 2024 processor releases, and from there, if it goes like that I will start a new page "List of Intel Core and Core Ultra 3/5/7/9 processors" for the new and future models to go under, along with "List of Intel Processor processors" for the Intel Processor-branded Pentium replacements. This would make it easier to find those newly named processor models than if we all had it in one article.
Anyways I appreciate the assistance! — AP 499D25 (talk) 03:19, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sanushasunil[edit]

Hi, can you take a look at this edit by Sanushasunil, who you previously warned about copyvios? His newest edit seems to copy [1]. Air on White (talk) 05:09, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I performed rev/del on that edit, and I'll ask Sanushasuni if they understand what the problem is. That poor article has taken quite a pounding in the last couple of days. I wonder if there's a class being assigned to edit it? I haven't quite gotten to the point of wanting to protect it, but the idea is swirling around. Joyous! Noise! 14:48, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help Needed[edit]

Hi,

Since you're online, I would like to mention 2A02:8308:A08C:6A00:3D1D:D48F:A56E:DBB5 who is engaged in Edit War with me, claiming that the official name of Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia is Vít Karásek (who is a ping-pong player). Could you please review this? If I'm wrong, you can block me for edit warring Myrealnamm (💬talk · ✏️contribs) at 18:37, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User94.246.207.212[edit]

User 94.246.207.212 has removed a chunk out of the Jack Ruby article without explanation; possible vandalism. 2.100.74.138 (talk) 14:59, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up! I reverted the article to its previous state. You're free to do that, too, when you notice something amiss like that. Let me know if you want a quick "how-to". Joyous! Noise! 15:56, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of unsourced or improperly cited material, unexplained removal of maintenance tags[edit]

Hi Joyous!, Can you check the accuracy of this article? 2 IP address ranges 2001:1388:A44:0:0:0:0:0 and 2001:1388:A45:0:0:0:0:0 All edits from the IP address found to be the same person. Harassing and deleting content in other articles which had administrators warn and rollback more than 20 disruptive edits Found the latest edit, redo it. 2001:1388:A44:E5F7:24AC:CE3C:BE06:1E4A https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2001:1388:A44:E5F7:24AC:CE3C:BE06:1E4A 2001:1388:A44:EDDB:98F3:C8BE:82C6:175D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2001:1388:A44:EDDB:98F3:C8BE:82C6:175D Repeatedly adding unsourced content and deleting maintenance tags by correcting them and not explained in the article Nine (singer) in terms of being a fan club Due to adding content to live broadcast activities to sell products Duplicate content is added which is not important. As with most of the content in this article

The entire article was edited by the same person, unexplained removal of maintenance tags, and recently used a new IP address to add a lot of unsourced content.

Edit history Nine (singer) has only one person, IP addresses starting with 2001:1388:A45 and 2001:1388:A44 all are the same person The edits will be made in the same way, namely adding information to the article without the source in Nine (singer) and deleting and disturbing other articles. which always has admin rollback This person made repeated changes with new IP addresses like this.

Administrators address disruptive IP address user behavior issues. Continuously adding unsourced content to Nine (singer) A single person from Lima, Peru, used the IP address to reverse an update notification. Unexplained deletion of maintenance tags Modifications were not performed according to the maintenance tag instructions. Please disturb other articles as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2001:1388:A45:7B00:358F:FBE6:A148:46A0

repeated addition of unsourced content I think examining a person is difficult. This person from Lima, Peru uses a different IP address every time they resolve. Every time delete and add information to another article. will be reversed Then edit again with the new IP address.

This person created information in the Nine (singer) article and also caused mischief in other articles. Add information without references Administrators always roll back edits that this person deleted on other articles. Editing that disturbs another article and edited and added information only to the article Nine (singer) The person using all IP addresses in this Nine (singer) article is the same person who removed the maintenance tag without editing it.

The person using all the IP addresses I attached is the same person. I'm only giving examples because there are many. The entire article Nine (singer) has an IP address from the same person from Lima, Peru, but the IP address in the update is different every time the information is added. This person deleted the maintenance tag notice. Delete without correcting Most articles lack references. As I looked at the article's history, Nine (singer) has been doing this for a long time, but no user has come to check on this person.
