poorly done opening paragraph.[edit]

opening with '(sometimes incorrectly referred to as the Schneider Cup, a different prize)' pretty much requires giving some indication of what the other prize is. though that might be complicated, as the 'Schneider Cup' page is just a redirect to the 'Schneider Trophy' page. i spent a few minutes searching for the Schneider Cup, but did not find anything informative. i did find that the wiki pages for a few Schneider Trophy winners called it [apparently incorrectly] the Schneider Cup. so some cleanup is in order here, but since i don't know what the Schneider Cup is, i can't do it myself. 2600:8801:8500:D72:A89C:FD47:1C58:F490 (talk) 04:50, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and have seen this before. It took some research but I've got the answer. mention of this 'other' Schneider Cup was actually bolded and in the lead slightly below. It is incorrect to say the Schneider Trophy is not sometimes called the Schneider Cup as it very clearly is in many sources and Coupe is cup in French!

The physically different piece of silverware was awarded by Jacques Schneider to Bertram Dickson in 1910 after winning a land based event in France. The trophy was presented to the RAF College Cranwell in 1946 by his sister, it is photographed and captioned on their Facebook page. A very good account of this event and a photo of the trophy itself are recorded here.

I have amended the text in this article but ideally we need a reliably sourced article on this event to clearly separate the two. Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 09:50, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
