Remove "Endorsers"?[edit]

I think the "Endorsers" section should be removed. It serves no purpose other than to list some Filipino celebrities who have done commercials for Jollibee. As this does not seem to be a standard encyclopedic part of other food-chain pages, I believe it is also out-of-place in this article.

More Attention[edit]

As one of the top and most recognizable Filipino companies out there, I think more work should be put into this article, pushing it towards GA/FA status. Shrumster 13:02, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Menu citation?[edit]

How does one properly cite a menu? i.e. those flyers with prices that they give away near the stores? IMHO, those are official Jollibee publications so they can be cited as primary sources. Shrumster 07:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um, could [1] this be used as a source, it tells some info about the menu. I do not like the site since a pop ad springs out every time I visit it. However, the article itself is okay.--Lenticel 12:54, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks useful enough. I'm going to try to get a portable menu from a restaurant to see how it can be cited. :) Shrumster 15:16, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jollitown TV program, 30th anniversary[edit]

30th Anniversary, "Jollitown"[edit]

On April 22, 2008, "Jollitown" at Rockwell Tent, Makati highlighted Jollibee’s 30th anniversary celebration. Jollibee and mascots or chums Yum, Hetty, Popo and Twirlie (mere party attractions and food chain icons), became television stars in children’s TV show, Jollitown, the first TV program by Jollibee, airing Sundays, 9:30 to 10 a.m., on GMA-7.[1] --Florentino floro (talk) 08:41, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jollibee Foods: Pork or not Pork?[edit]

Jollibee has been around for 30 years and beginning to be internationalized. However there are very little information about the foods on its menu. And many religious and/or ethnic groups who are strictly forbidden or do not eat pork such as Muslims are going to Jollibee not knowing which are pork-free. Only those that contain bacon, chorizo, chicharon, longganisa, and hotdog(some may not know that hotdog is a pork AND beef but mostly pork-based because of economical reasons) are considered pork-based products and should not be eaten with a special diet. But what about the others? Many of their products, such as the Yumburger (including all burgers including burger steak), fries (Including Nacho Festival and with sauces), and dishes (all that does not fall under burgers and fries) do not have public information about what ingredients they put in there. And by the way "Trade Secrets" will not work here if they did put a mixture of Pork in an Advertised 100% Pure Beef Yumburger. The muslim community here is very inactive in finding out if the foods in fast-foods and restaurants are suitable for their diet. While not a Muslim, I have a strict non-pork diet and I have been eating in Jolibee for quite some time now. However I want Jolibee to be frank and clear about what they put in their foods so we and the muslim community would have an 'early warning' about what could or could not eat. Removed the Discussion article that Jolibee Uses Worms in their Meat[edit]

I just erased some guy's post who was trying to destroy our beloved Fast food restuarant by claiming they use worms instead of real meat. How pathetic! And racist! See history section for recent edits! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Punkymonkey987 (talkcontribs) 18:06, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Huh!? What did you do!? You removed someone's opinion in a talk page. I wouldn't agree to that. Putting cultured worms in place of beef/pork had been a rumor as long as I can remember. It's considered Vandalisim if they edited it out directly on the talk page without citing any sources. Don't be so naiive and delete anyone's opinion just because it offends you. It's also Jolibee's fault that they do not reveal their meat processing factories to the public (yet). I hope that anyone who works or who knows a person who works at the Jolibee Meat Processing Factory would prove or disprove this claim. NEVER DELETE ANYONE'S DISCUSSION ON A TALK PAGE EVEN IF IT IS RACIST OR PATHETIC. It's your point of view and Wikipedia don't care. And kindly define RACIST for me; I think you're using the word wrong.Triadwarfare (talk) 14:20, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Add "Controversy" regarding Chickenjoy Towel[edit]

I think we should add controversy where today there is a issue going around in Jollibee. A woman complained that theres a towel sticked inside the chicken. She ordered online jolibee meal via Grab. She claimed that she ordered online via Grab to BGC (Bonifacio Global city) Jollibee franchise. Instead of complaining it to the manager, the woman posted about it to her social media and complained about it and then she went to raffy tulfo to share about her problem. She talked about her story and she added that she was giving awareness to the people through raffy tulfo. She said she has lawyers prepared already and Tulfo got confused and said he will not interfere about the problem since she claimed that she has lawyers prepared already. So after that It got viral and people were naming it as "chickenjoy towel" etc. I believe someone should add this part in the article because theres also controversy subtitle in other wikipedia articles and I believe this should have it too. It got viral and everybody knows what it is. If i lack some details, im sorry as this is the best i could do to storytell about it. If u want to learn more then go to raffy tulfo's video on YT and search chickenjoy towel or something like that and it has millions of views and it is trending as of this June. What do you think? Pepsi Number Fever attributing to why Jollibee does not serve Pepsi drinks in the Philippines[edit]

I think it might be worth mentioning that while Jollibee serves Coca Cola in Philippines and Pepsi in other parts of the world, it's worth noting that the reason for this is likely attributed to the Pepsi Number Fever[1] Campaign that had gone awry in the 90s

GOCE copy edit[edit]

Some notes:

  • The lede should be rewritten in accordance with MOS:LEAD. Summarize each part of the article in the order it appears.
  • The tagline in the infobox should have an English translation, needs a cite, and should be discussed in the body as well.
  • Left some maintenance tags.
  • The history should include profit/revenue information in addition to locations. The products section could use more descriptions from RSes of the individual products. There are definitely reviews in reliable sources to describe what the burgers etc. are like.

UK location misleading[edit]

While the UK does have about a dozen branches of Jollibees scattered across England, Scotland and Wales there is no branch in the UK territory of Northern Ireland which has been coloured red to suggest there is one there. This is misleading to fans of Jollibees and Filipinos who arrive in Ireland looking for a nearby branch. The listing of UK being a location of Jollibees might be technically correct but it would be far more accurate and less misleading to just say the island of Britain in order to pinpoint the UK territories where there actually are branches as there are currently no branches or plans for branches anywhere on the island of Ireland. 80.233.72.97 (talk) 21:45, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The map follows sovereign countries and excludes constituent countries of the UK. Hence Alaska is also shaded for the USA despite having no branches there. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 13:01, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I am aware of this and make reference to that in my original post but my point still stands that it is misleading to those who come to the island of Ireland. The easy alternative is simply to refer to the country of Britain as being the location of Jollibees to be more clear. It is quite an easy thing to do or the owners of Jollibees just set up a branch in the UK territory of Northern Ireland and keep people of both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland happy. I am not sure what could be the alternative for Alaskans as the United States of America has just one name which encompasses all 50 states. 80.233.74.234 (talk) 13:37, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is WP:NOTGUIDE anyway. For this purpose, prospective customers should refer to the respective Jollibee online channels. Ie. www.jollibee.uk for this specific concern.
To be frank, why the pedantry? Where do we draw the line? Again the map (and the table) follows sovereign countries + dependent territories (and Northern Ireland is an integral part of the UK). There has to be standards/consistency and not just do special treatment for certain countries. For the US, it would be still be jarring to have individual states mentioned since a handful of states even in the continental United States still don't have a branch. Wikipedia isn't meant to be that accurate when it comes to outlet locations (WP:NOTDIRECTORY) Hariboneagle927 (talk) 15:12, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
