Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! -- Mgm|(talk) 08:27, Mar 16, 2005 (UTC)

P.S. Please remember that if you want to write about yourself you should use your userpage. Articles about yourself will be deleted. (I've moved your update note the the appropriate place).

As of March 25, 2005, there are an additional (6) articles listed for deletion under the POV notion that schools are non-notable (even though this is invalid reasoning as per the Wikipedia deletion policy). Please be aware that the following schools are actively being discussed and voted upon:

In response to this cyclical ordeal, a Schoolwatch programme has been initiated in order to indentify school-related articles which may need improvement and to help foster and encourage continued organic growth. Your comments are welcome and I thank you again for your time. --GRider\talk

Fair use image in user namespace[edit]

Hello! You have used a fair use image in your user namespace (User:Doc13mets/SHUMUN). Criterion 9 of the Wikipedia:Fair use criteria states that "Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine." I have removed it on these grounds. Sincerely, --Oden 09:03, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The image above is missing essential source information. It will be deleted on 2007-03-20.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:20, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use image in userspace[edit]

A fair use image on your user page, user talk page, or elsewhere in your userspace, has been removed in order to comply with copyright law. Fair use images can only be used in articles and nowhere else on Wikipedia.
Please do not replace it, and thank you for your cooperation.
For further information, see Wikipedia's user page guidelines and fair use policy.

Hello Doc13mets, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Uglydog.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Doc13mets/angrynone83. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:23, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Aserratelli.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aserratelli.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:05, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Aserratelli.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Aserratelli.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:30, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seton Hall University Good Article Status[edit]

Hi, I'm reaching out to all the major editors of the SHU article in hopes of finishing up some edits required to bring the article up to GA status. The article had passed GA, but was then placed on hold, contingent on our finishing the items on our to do list. I'd appreciate any help you could give in making this happen.
