What do you mean by dead links? Red links are fine as they lead to the formation of new articles. Nothing I did to the Communist Party of Turkey article requires sysop powers by the way. You could have done it. You don't need permission, or anything. This might help:

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications.
