Why exactly has someone reverted to an earlier version of this map. G-Man 18:50, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Historic?[edit]

Well, I suppose the 1911-74 boundary is historic in the sense that it isn't the current one, but if you're going to play games with the word "historic", you should remember that the entire portion of the current City of Birmingham south of the Bournbrook, the River Rea, the Belgrave/Highgate Rd, the Sparkbrook, and the River Cole was in Worcestershire pre-1911. Likewise, large parts of the west of the City (Harborne, Handsworth, Perry Barr) were in Staffordshire - I'm not sure of the exact course of that boundary, but I understand that part of it ran along Hockley Brook. • Erm good point, mind you, Warwickshire's boundaries have undergone a number of revisions, so it's hard to say which is the true "historic county". G-Man 22:03, 12 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect map[edit]

This map does not show Warwickshire's "historic boundaries" in the sense that the boundary given was never the actual county boundary at any stage in history. If one is going to give Warwickshire half of Tamworth then places like Shipston-on-Stour and Yardley needs to be given to Worcestershire, the exclave of the county centred on Whitchurch noted, and so forth.

A correct map (without comparison) can be found here: [1] Uncantabrigian 20:28, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I had realised that, and was planning to do a new map at some point, I havn't got roud to doing it yet. There are also parts of Birmingham which used to be in Worcesterhire and Staffordshire. G-Man 21:20, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
