Comments[edit]

While I don't know the all the specifics, it is my understanding that QVC pays cable companies to carry their programming rather the traditional policy of the cable company paying a fee to the cable networks. Incidents[edit]

About a year and a half ago, there was a demonstration of a Cook's Essentials frying pan sold with a thick tempered glass press (to press onto food while cooking). One of the hosts placed the glass press onto a "smoothtop" |induction stove - which resulted in shattering the press within seconds. The other host seemed irritated that the other host had thanked for the crew for cleaning up the press' remains. AFAIK, the distributor redesigned the press using stainless steel, instead of tempered glass - which was a bad idea to begin with. I haven't been able to find a video of this incident online, but it sure did happen, maybe any of you would know about this. Jedo1507r 22:44, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are many occasions of incidents concerning individuals who call in. I have a copy of a "blooper" tape where many incidents of inappropriate language or sexual deviancy are discussed. Additionally, the late-night shows often receive drunk dials from people all over the country.

Fair use rationale for Image:QVC.gif[edit]

Image:QVC.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:53, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where's WQVC radio?[edit]

I was watching a demo of a radio last night, and apparently QVC owns a radio station called WQVC. That ought to be added to the article. - Theaveng 10:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Holy Lack of Sources, batman![edit]

More than 75% of this article includes statements which have no reference, source, or citation. Let's remove the links for "June_13" and "1986" and "November_24" and replace them with links to source material. Anything which isn't sourced should be removed from this article ASAP.

On the first paragraph of this[edit]

Although their sales policies are helpful to describe their business, phrases like money back guarantee and Todays Special Value seem borderline advertising. JasonHockeyGuy (talk) 03:47, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How few phone calls?![edit]

"QVC UK broadcasts live 17 hours a day (although the channel runs 24 hours a day), 364 days a year. In 2009, QVC UK shipped more than 13.5 million units and handled more than 14,500 phone calls."

14,000 phone calls... Er, in all of 2009?! So just 40 phone calls per day. I think not, and this is just one of the problems with the lack of citations in this whole article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.152.174.122 (talk) 17:39, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not an acronym[edit]

Am I right in thinking that 'QVC' is not an acronym, but an abbreviation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.231.178 (talk) 08:27, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are correct. Also this QVC page reads like press release.--99.177.248.92 (talk) 22:00, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
