Ridiculously self-explanatory t-shirt slogan/computer joke whose major claim to fame was a ten-second mention on The Simpsons. Next up: I Went to Idaho and All I Got was this Lousy T-Shirt. Delete. Ian Pugh 03:46, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Merge if a suitable article exists, then Delete. Not an important meme in its own right. Not a likely search term, does not need a redirect. Individual jokes, T-shirt slogans, etc. should not have entire entries and articles. We don't (and shouldn't!) even have articles on real memes like Tippecanoe and Tyler too or 54-40 or fight or Remember the Maine or Remember Pearl Harbor or Remember the Alamo.   • Merge if there is something suitable. An interesting note is that I never got this joke since I am from Sweden where we, as far as I know, have no similar childrens book. I always wondered what was so funny about it, even when I saw it on the Simpsons. Thanks to this article I now know the joke.. I assume "Spot" was a dog or something in the book.. At any rate, as useful as It was for me (and I assume other non-Americans) It should not have its own article. It wouldn't hurt to mention it in another article, though, but I'll leave it up to someone else to decide which... Zelda 23:14, Oct 21, 2004 (UTC)

The most classic example is the (likely) originator, some picture book for preschool aged kids from the 1950's. It is frequently used in cultural context for various things. Such as See spot run type reports issued to women from male underlings, in criticism of male chauvanism, etc. It goes with brown cows, and jumping over lazy dogs... 132.205.15.4 03:52, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
