Sorry -- I have to disagree with a HUGE part of what was originally in the article, based on many years working in restaurants. Yes, many chain restaurants are fast-food restaurants -- but they have their own article. Most people do not think of fast-food places as restaurants per se -- unlike actual restaurant (dine-in) chains -- of which there are many in the US and abroad. If there needs to be a list of famous chains, then it shouldn't be fast-food (again, its own article) -- not when people could list Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Black angus, Ruths'Chris, Outback (in the US); Wienerwald and John Benton (in Germany), and a few in England (pub chains, mostly, I think) -- and even Waffle House and Denny's -- as famous chain restaurants.
