Renovation[edit]

Now that the renovation is done, someone should take a photograph. I suggest taking one from the Costa coffee shop in Waterstone's. -- Kaihsu 14:06, 2004 Apr 18 (UTC)

I have rephrased the portion about the street being the second worst street in the country. As originally worded it suggested that buses still used the street until the 2003 repaving. The reality waas that they ceased to use Cornmarket in 1999. The vote was no doubt influenced by the false start made in repaving the road in c.2001. GraemeMoughan 16:17, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

I tagged the sentence about being voted second worst street as needing a reference. Then I had a look on the internet, and I found a reference on the BBC website, so I set about inserting the reference. I am new to Wikipedia and haven't done much editing. I didn't know the difference between the kinds of references, so I am unsure if what I did was correct. If somebody objects to the reference, can you please explain here so that I will understand. Here, I fixed it for you. You need to enclose cite template with <ref> tags, and inline citation will be automatically made, provided there is a {{reflist}} template. See Wikipedia:Footnotes for more info.  Grue  10:36, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Does anybody have a reference confirming that this street isn't actually named Cornmarket? This name isn't just local slang like 'the High' for High Street, but is used almost universally in local authority documents, tourist guides etc. The only real evidence I've found that it's actually named 'Cornmarket Street' is Google Maps. --Ef80 (talk) 14:35, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On Google Street View it clearly shows Cornmarket Street. Here is a google maps generated URL of said sign: maps.app.goo.gl/81vvm1rug3q3KtRw8 Wikizashi (talk) 06:58, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
