I've put up a notice suggesting that this article be merged with Summoner (character class). There's more overlap than not, and most of the FF6-specific info can be dealt with in that article. Any disagreement? – Seancdaug 06:08, Apr 20, 2005 (UTC)

Though Espers can be summoned after they have been reduced to magicite, they themselves, and the characters from the game Final Fantasy VI, do not have a class designated as a summoner, and the game never mentions about such a class at all. The Esper page should remain separate from the Summoner page. --EisenKnoechel 05:09, May 11, 2005 (UTC)

That's a fair point, but my problem is that having a seperate page for Espers is redundant: they are, in and of themselves, not distinct enough from summoned monsters in any other game in the series to warrant a seperate article. The Summoner article currently contains information both about summoners as a character class, and summoning magic in general, and that seemed the most logical place to put them. I suppose that that article could be split into two, although my concern with that is the information seems to belong together, and the split would possibly create more confusion than it clears up. Still, my primary concern is the FF6 article sprawl: this information should, at the very least, be grouped together with information on other FF summoned creatures, be they GFs, Eidolons, Aeons, or whatever, to reduce redundancy. If the Summoner article doesn't suit that purpose, than a new article should be created that does. – Seancdaug 17:16, May 11, 2005 (UTC)
