Happiness[edit]

I was the one who removed your links in happiness, and I've done this again. External links are added to Wikipedia by the truckload, and these may be nice but not selective enough. I wonder why you've singled out "Formula of Happiness" as a book, because there are hundreds of self-help books with this theme available. JFW | T@lk 22:52, 15 Jan 2005 (UTC)

hi, I think "Formula of Happiness" isn't just another primitive self-help book. It is written by a scientist (biophysic) and an editor of "Spiegel" and "Geo" (in 1996-2000). The book is based on many contemporary experiments about human nature and they are presented in easy to understand publicistic fashion (not a too complicated language, I mean - the same what I like about Wikipedia;). I myself am an analytic person and I found lots of rational and argumented things there.

Book doesn't state, "do thees 10 things and You'll definitely become happy!", instead it sais - "probably there are 6'000'000'000 ways to become happy" ;)

Please, take a look at http://www.stefanklein.info/en/texte_autor/intro.html 6-th paragraph to become sure of the intention of the book.

The author's credentials mean little. If you had posted a link to a similar book by René Diekstra (a Dutch professor of psychology and author of many similar books) I would also have removed it. Unless the book advances a major new theory about happiness that has found wide public acclaim or scientific backing, it does not have what it takes to become part of the Wikipedia page.

You seem to confuse "interesting" with "encyclopedic". This is an encyclopedia, and although it is written by amateurs we maintain certain standards; one of them is that external links do more than just link at something that someone might find interesting. We've got Google for that. Wikipedia should ideally only link to Dr Klein's book if it would have been quoted in a "real" encyclopedia like the Brittannica or the Brockhaus.
