  • Somebody tell me if this is notable or even genuine, because I couldn't find any evidence and it looks rather bizarre. Check this out: "Westbrook's 1,067 votes likely came from young women whom Westbrook seemed to have no trouble wooing. "He always seemed to have a gorgeous young lady with him no matter where he went," as one observer noted." And then there's all the occult stuff. Everyking 03:41, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Yeah, it's genuine -- accusations of satanism were made by the Tulsa World; I paid the buck and a half so I could read the archived article I found searching for westbrook satanism. Notable? Dunno. But not bogus. abstain for the moment; the story is weird enough that the weirdness itself might make it notable. --jpgordon{gab} 05:27, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Another abstain, for now. [1] and [2] corroborate parts of it, too. 207.69.136.204 seems to be responsible for this, and his appearances in Satanism, List of Satanists, and List of occultists. —tregoweth 05:50, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Well, someone has to vote on deletion. I guess I will. It's a pretty weird story, and those of us from the Blue States of the Mind might smirk at it, and those of us from the church-going side might wonder why these Satanists never seem to actually get rich or powerful. However, this is a local politician, even if his story is very entertaining. The interview and profile in Penthouse doesn't quite make him nationally notable, although it is close. ("Dear Penthouse, I never thought this would happen to me, but I was sacrificing to the Dark Lord when the Republican Party....") Geogre 06:02, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • It's a very long, unverified, and largely unsourced account of a minor politician written by someone apparently acquainted with the techniques of political dirty tricks. Having said that, that is a comment on the content, not whether there should be an article about this politician. Keep. [this vote was from User:Minority_Report]
  • Needs NPOV; meets notability. Keep. Samaritan 08:05, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete; doesn't seem notable enough yet for an article, and I don't think entertainment value alone is an acceptable reason for an article (though this one comes close). —tregoweth 19:24, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Ordinarily Tulsa City Council candidates wouldn't make the cut, but he's extraordinary. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 21:48, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, with NPOV edits. GRider 07:27, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Does not meet the recommended criteria for inclusion of biographies. A few DUIs, his religion and a magazine article (even if it was Penthouse) are not sufficient to push it over the line for me. Rossami (talk) 06:45, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep Last time I checked the article and its subject meets all of the "biography criteria." --207.69.136.202 07:56, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep While I believe the article should stay, I feel that it should be edited. I have checked the authenticity of the information and found most of it to be factual. Nonetheless, I could not verify that anyone from the Tulsa World or Penthouse ever stated or "noted" or "observed" that Mr. Westbrook was some type of "ladies-man." It would be interesting to know who exactly wrote the article. --Hellion 07:04, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Edited the article, based on facts I obtained from the Penthouse interview and the Tulsa World articles. I also made sure that Westbrook's criminal history was properly defined as the person that originally wrote the article seems to have downplayed most of that and added phrases like "Westbrook always seemed to have gorgeous young ladies around him, blah, blah blah." You all can check his record for your self at [3] Please feel free to tell me if you think my edits help to balance the article out. Or not. --Hellion 07:42, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep it. It's genuine alright. [[User:Radman1|RaD Man (talk)]] 17:46, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
