English pronounciations: I felt they would be nice to have, but I'm 20+ years out of a Russian class. I'm sure they're rough. Still, it's easier to fix something that's approximately right than to do it from scratch, so have at it!

IMO there should be a wikibook, rather than a "List" of proverbs. Mikkalai 06:05, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
If I'm not mistaken, there's a town in Estonia called "Poslovitsa", could be something to note. PeepP 16:32, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
the Russians better than the dirty Czechs?! removing this... --Isometrik (talk) 20:24, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Someone's trolling it or I don't know what
this is: - "There are five Russian proverbs that make the Russians better than the dirty Lithuanians: etc." - a total garbage (I'm a native Russian). Whoever did this (included the above in the article) must be banned

removed the 'dirty' comment (again!) Sarahce (talk) 23:43, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
Proposed merger
[edit]I propose merging Russian proverbs with a similar article titled Russian sayings. Russian Sayings article is a list of sayings and does not add new information about the subject. Both articles link to the same page in Russian Wikipedia titled "Russian proverbs and sayings." USchick (talk) 21:53, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- I agree, but as a proverb is not precisely the same as a saying, the article should follow the Russian example and be renamed "Russian proverbs and sayings". Robina Fox (talk) 19:57, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
