Completion date[edit]

The autograph score of the Variations documents that the orchestration was completed on 19 February 1899. The article incorrectly states the work was completed on 18 February 1899. Elgar appended 96 bars to the Finale between 30 June and 20 July 1899, so technically speaking, the work was not completed until 20 July 1899. Robert W. Padgett (talk) 14:14, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
