have you observed any esterified products with benzoic acid and sorbitol at a pH of 2.5-3.

Hi I have drawn 3 pictures of the mechanism of Esterification for the german articel about Esterification. I have not labelled them, so that you can use them for the english articel, too (if you like).

Who are you? Where are the images? Cacycle 11:42, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Hi My nick in the german-written-Wikipedia is "Backwahn". I have not created an account for the englich-written-Wikipedia, since I thought it would not be necessary. You find the pictures in the german-written-articel "Veresterung"
or here: 1. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Versersterung1a.png

Is H3C-COOH butan-1-ol? I was under the impression that it would be ethanoic Acid. One more thing, are wiki articles supposed to have retorical questions like that one of this reaction? I will correct it just for the time being. But open to discussion --Mexaguil 07:27, 27 October 2005 (UTC) I am sorry I made the error of assuming that question was describing the equetion. Anyway I do not belive that question is appropiate. --Mexaguil 08:06, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

How about adding a discussion of the use of dehydrating/activating agents (Mukaiyama's reagent, DCC, etc.)? Haligonian1 (talk) 05:02, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well but which oxygen is removed from the reaction? And shouldn't we include more about the mechanism? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.153.56.186 (talk) 15:53, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
