2005[edit]

Perhaps this article should be titled "Unsuccessful Confidence Tricksters" or "Naive Confidence Tricksters", since successful con men (and women) would never have been detected as such, or, if detected, would be protected by libel laws from disclosure. I can think of some schemes widely advertised on TV that I would term con games. Included would surely be all the "credit repair" and "debt consolidation" schemes. Also many of the things advertised as being sold with "money back guarantees" depend upon the fact that claiming the guarantee involves so much expense as to make it worthless. Isn't it POV to include psychics and telepaths in this list if their abilities have not been disproved?

That's what I was going to say. And calling these people "confidence tricksters" may invite trouble. Vote to delete page.TinaMarieGerry 12:23, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sathya Sai Baba note[edit]

There is a discussion at Talk:Sathya Sai Baba#Category:Confidence tricksters about having Sathya Sai Baba in this category (and a related template). --Closeapple (talk) 03:38, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
