Billy Ruffian - (alternative spelling: Billy Ruff'n) the sailors' cant name for HMS Bellerophon - is my nom de web. The Bellerophon was the ship that carried Napoleon to Plymouth after Waterloo, and was his prison until he was transferred to HMS Northumberland and taken to his final exile on St. Helena.

I am the webmaster for the Gunroom and one of the list administrators for the gunroom mailing list.

I am by profession a computer nerd; having been a UNIX systems administrator and engineer, programmer and analyst, and most recently a web page designer.

I have been a volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium since May, 1986, as a guide and helping to build and maintain the volunteer web site for them.
