"freedom fighter" vs "terrorist"[edit]

To claim that the use of the term "freedom fighter" is obviously and inherently false is to dismiss asymmetrical warfare as inherently invalid. While in the current climate terrorism is regarded as universally immoral by those in the west it has historically been regarded by the vast majority of western thinkers to be valid in circumstances like the french resistance during world war two. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.19.236 (talk) 03:57, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Terrorism is when you work for your goal by targeting third parties who are not directly involved in the issues. Freedom fighters from, for example, France during the German occupation didn't do that (they sabotaged the German military and those who supplied them). I'm removing the NPOV tag again - would have posted on your talk page if you were signed in but you weren't so I can't. TH 14:30, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merging[edit]

I'm not sure whether blackwhite should be merged into Newspeak. If someone does want to merge it somewhere, may be a better idea would be Doublethink? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.108.192.71 (talk) 14:27, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
